Heritage home renovation in Geelong.
Sloan Built was engaged to deliver the transformation of the second level of a historic 1800s terrace in central Geelong, now known as Merchant on Malop.
This unique project involved the meticulous renovation of a heritage-listed building into a luxurious, self-contained short-term stay offering. Working in close collaboration with renowned local interior designer Rebecca Jansma, no expense was spared in the pursuit of refined finishes, bespoke detailing, and timeless character.
The result is a seamless blend of heritage charm and modern indulgence — where original architectural features are complemented by sophisticated interiors, delivering a truly elevated guest experience in the heart of the city.

"Collaborating with Sloan Built on Merchant on Malop was an absolute pleasure. The project demanded a sensitive approach — working within the constraints of a heritage building while striving for a high-end, design-led result — and the team handled it with care and precision. Their attention to detail, respect for the original architecture, and commitment to quality were evident at every stage.
"Andrew’s calm and honest nature made the process smooth and enjoyable, and his team brought a high level of craftsmanship to the execution. The final outcome is something we’re all incredibly proud of — a beautiful blend of character and comfort that feels both timeless and fresh."
